How do I upload film work?

Film content created during Shine week can be uploaded to the website for others to view.

To upload video content you must be logged in. Click 'Login here...' on the left-hand side (fig. 7.1) to be taken to the login page. Enter your username and password and click "Log in". Tick the ‘Remember me’ box to stay logged in on your computer (not recommended if the computer is used by more than one person).

The next page will allow you to upload your film content. Fill in the following fields to help describe your content:

  • Title – Type in a suitable title for your content.
  • Select a talent – Select one or more terms from the list that best describes your content. To select more than one term, hold down ‘Ctrl’ on your keyboard while selecting with your mouse.
  • Add your own talent – Use this field to enter a comma-separated list of words that describe your content.
  • Upload new video file – Press the ‘Browse’ button to find the video file on your computer. Once you have selected the correct file, press ‘Open’ to choose it for uploading. When that is done, click the 'Attach' button. This must be done before pressing the final 'Submit' button, otherwise the film will not be uploaded to the site.
  • Story behind your work – A short text description of what you’re uploading. This helps to provide context the work – who was involved, who had the idea, where did you go, etc.

Press the ‘Preview’ button to see how your content will look once uploaded. If you are happy, press the ‘Submit’ button to confirm your upload. The film will have to be approved by your school or organisation’s Shine coordinator before going live on the website.
