Schools and organisations can add their upcoming Shine week events to the events calendar. Students cannot add events.
To create an event you must be logged in. Click the 'Login here...' link on the left-hand side (fig. 11.1) to be taken to the login page. Enter your username and password and click ‘Log in’. Tick the ‘Remember me’ box to stay logged in on your computer (not recommended if the computer is used by more than one person).

You will be taken to your profile page. Click the ‘Add an event’ link on the right-hand side (fig. 11.2).

You will be taken to a new page where you can enter your event information.
First you can enter your event’s start and end dates. You can either type the date and time in the fields given (using the YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format), or you can click the calendar icon to bring up a calendar view (fig. 11.3). When using the calendar view, first enter the time at the bottom by clicking the hour or minute field and, while still holding down the mouse button, drag your mouse right or left to increase or decrease the numbers. After choosing the time, locate your date using the arrows at the top. Once you have found it, click on the date number. This will close the calendar view, and the numbers in the date field will have changed to what you selected. If the event lasts all day, tick the ‘All day’ checkbox.

The next step is to enter information about your event.
Press the ‘Preview’ button to see how your event page will look once uploaded. If you are happy, press the ‘Submit’ button to add the event.
