Model Building
As part of the ASDAN qualification the students were asked to research and assemble model World War 2 airplanes, boats and tanks. These models were then displayed in an exhibit and made available for sale. The students had to work patiently and purposely to create a product. They had to calculated a price that reflected the production and labour cost and represented value for money. This project represented a hand on approach to the development of the skills associated with enterprise as well as literacy and numeracy.

Through participating in the model making project the students gained:

An understanding of what is involved in setting up their own business; advertising, pricing, marketing, production and selling.
The development of the key enterprise capabilities making, thinking and learning, design and make, leadership, managing risk, selling, team work, key skill, communication.
