Blue Is

Blue Is

Blue is like the colour of the sea
Blue is the colour of blueberry tea
Blue is like the colour of my sock
Blue is the colour of my mates frock

Gold is like the colours in a rainbow
Gold is the colour of an angel’s halo
Gold is like the colour of my dads fire place
Gold is the colour of people leaving in haste

Silver is like the colour of a chandelier
Silver is the colour of a can of beer
Silver is like the silver spots on the flower pots
Silver is the colour of the cushion cots

White is like the waves froth
White is the colour of a cough
White is like a polo horse

Clacton County High School - English Shine Week

Clacton County High School's English Department celebrated 'Shine Week' with a 'Writer In Residence'. Local poet, Martin Newell led various workshops for students across the year groups. The sessions included Lyric writing, Performance Poetry workshops with Year 9 students and a day spent with Year 8 Gifted and Talented on an ‘Ode to CCHS’.

a ball

a ball

They have the same shape
But not the same size
They are used in lots of games
And all have different rules

You buy them anywhere
And at any price
You can do with them
Whatever you like

You play on any surfaces
And they don’t get messed about
You’ll stop playing and go away
And when you come out they’ll be fine

Always Shine

Shine , Shine , Shine , Shine,
See how far you can climb.
Reach up high,
Reach up tall.
Shine as much as Claremont school.
