Stokefest 2008

Betty Layward School, alongside 4 other primary schools and their local high school, Stoke Newington, took part in a carnival recycling project. We worked alongside the fantastic Brazilian arts group Taru who taught the children dance, percussion and how to make costumes from recycled materials. It was a brilliant project and ended with around 400 children taking part in a carnival parade in Stoke Newington to open 'Stokefest', an annual local festival. It was an amazing project which we hope to continue with year-on-year.
