Ex-Wilsthorpe Student is Starred!

Congratulations to a former student of Wilsthorpe Business and Enterprise College in Derbyshire : Emma Matthews (who left us in 2002 when we were 'Wilsthorpe Community School') has been awarded a 'starred' First Class Honours degree in architecture which is about as good as you can get. However, that still leaves her another four years before she qualifies as an architect. Emma had the distinction when at Wisthorpe of achieving 100% in her Media Studies coursework - talk about talent!

Students from Prudhoe Community High School in Northumberland identified their own building as in serious need of improvement, they then set about interviewing a series of local Architects who presented proposals as to how they would like help in the development. The group selected Napper Architects, who designed the Alnwick Gardens Tree House and Sunderland Winter Gardens. After a series of consultations, including an online survey of students and staff, key areas for development were identified.
