The Lost Friend

The Lost Friend

Jess Holiday (writer) and Abbie Norris (Digital Artist) collaborated with Room 13 and the children of West Rise Junior School. Their aim was to produce a piece of work which reflected the Room 13 ethos of Child lead and process driven learning. The Starting point was Jess and Abbie looking at their own strengths and interests and through discussion they came up with the idea of exploring the use of storytelling and shadow puppetry. They gave an assembly to the whole school to see if anyone would be interested in getting involved, they wanted volunteers only.

CCHS Stand Firm Against Bullying Campaign - Form 7ALI

In March Year 7 students at Clacton County High worked towards gaining ‘Bully Free Status’ during their weekly PACE/Citizenship lessons. This culminated in the SFAB assessments, where each form presented their anti-bulling campaign to independent assessors. The ‘Stand Firm Against Bullying’ campaign highlighted the various forms of bullying and the need for all students to respect each other to combat bullying. There were a variety of presentations from each form including short films, anti-bullying displays and booklets, short plays and even an anti-bullying webpage.

The Garden Centre - Banks Lane Movie Club

The Garden Centre - Banks Lane Movie Club

Charlotte and Jack (Year 2) made this stop motion film during our lunchtime Movie Club at Banks Lane Infant & Nursery School. They used a Digital Blue camera and software to take the photographs and then added text, narration, sound and special effects to their film.

They were very patient and displayed excellent teamwork as they worked together to make this film.

This short film was made in less than half an hour with very little help - Well done Charlotte & Jack!

Movie Club

Year 2 children at Banks Lane Infant & Nursery School have enjoyed using Digital Blue cameras to make stop-motion animation films during our lunchtime club.

Children and teachers from Year 2 meet once a week during lunchtime to create short movies using Playmobil characters. The films are uploaded to the school website so the children can share their films with family and friends at home.
