The group of young people that have registered for this event will be making their own soundtrack to accompany a piece of film. They will use music technology to create a backing track and then compose repeated patterns to fit on top using a variety of acoustic and amplified instruments. They will explore how music complements the moving image and decide how to structure the various elements that they have created to produce an effective soundtrack. They will perform the live instrumental parts over the backing tracks they have created and write an evaluation of their work.
A DVD will be shown about children who are young carers to the whole school. Depending on family sensitivity, various children will be speaking about things they do to care for others. The drama club will then perform a short piece linked to this area.
