Levendale held a Healthy Fitness Week between Monday 23rd – Friday 27th June. This was a great opportunity to raise the awareness of keeping fit and healthy, learn new and develop existing skills, and try new sports/activities in school. As well as a fantastic opportunity for our sporting pupils to shine! Events included:Cheer Leading, Thai Boxing, Tri Golf, Tennis Factory, Ancient Greek Olympic Games, ABC Challenge (SAQ), Football Fun and Fitness, Jazz and Street dance workshops, Freddie FIt, Orienteering and KS1 Seaside Sports.

In recognition of National Sports Week, we will be holding our own special week of sporting events.
Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 children will be taking part in Healthy Heroes (fun, games & physical activities) and Yoga Bugs.
Key Stage 1 will hold their own Sports Morning on Tuesday.
Key Stage 2 children will attend the Halewood Leisure Centre for Sportswall activities and Dance Mats.
In addition, each year group will hold their own intra sports events on the school field during the week, culminating in Sports Day on Friday.

Main event; two repeat showcases on 2nd July at 6.15pm and 7.30pm
There is a multitude of exciting activities running up to and during SHINE week at Accrington's Moorhead Sports College. Eight practitioners, including an Olympic gymnast, have been working with over 100 students at Moorhead to create a 45 minute performance showcasing students talent from playing electric guitar and choir singing to free running and juggling. These performances will be taking place mainly in the sports Hall, which is being transformed by budding textile students into a 'Big Top' style space.

The annual Old Boys' Cricket match will take place on 3rd July. Our current first X1 team will play against a range of past pupils, young and old, a historic tradition which dates back centuries. A great opportunity during Shine Week to see some fantastic rising stars, many of whom play for the county of Northumberland.
