The pupils in Year3 and 4 have been studying habitats around their schol as a science project. For one day they worked with Mark Richardson, teacher at the Thomas Hardye School and Films for Learning Coordinator to make this film. The pupils, scripted, planned and shot, all the footage. They made the animated pictures, performed the music and took the stills. In the afternoon the pupils edited about 60% of the work, this was completed and 'tightened up' by Mark that evening.

Filmmaking workshop

Pupils worked in pairs to create a music video, starting by filming around the school using only a few props to create a sequence that could be synchronized to the pieces created in the music workshop. At the end of it, all the pupils gathered together to share their work with eachother.

'In Penny Lane the Barber shaves another customer. We see the banker sitting waiting for a trim. And then the fireman rushes in from the pouring , very strange'. Y6 have been working hard with their Shine Week projects. First of all, they have been doing biographies about the Beatles. After that they did poems about rain. They have also been putting beards on themselves (on the computer) for the barber to shave. Propably their greatest achievement, the Powerpoint corresponds to the Penny Lane song. By Josh Rutley.
